The Schlager Café is every Schlager music fan’s dream and a premier culinary experience. Since April 2025, the café in Düsseldorf’s Old Town has united the special joie-de-vivre of Schlager music with first-class cuisine, and also has an integrated event area right next door. Aside from putting on acclaimed live concerts by Schlager stars of the past and present, the Henkel Hall also plays host to talks, corporate events, and much more. The lighting technology set-up, for which Philipp Kleidt from PHK Eventtechnik used plenty of Cameo fixtures on behalf of ProdLive GmbH, was just as versatile as the event programme. We spoke to Maurin Cronenberg (Managing Partner, ProdLive) and Philipp Kleidt (Managing Director, PHK Eventtechnik) about the Schlager Café project. Hello Philipp, hello Maurin, how did you come up with this project? Is there some kind of history behind it? Philipp Kleidt: It happened quite easily in our case: Maurin approached me and asked me if I would like to join the crew and oversee the lighting part at the Schlager Café. Since time was short, we worked directly with Kristof Schlösser to develop the necessary concepts. This spring, the sound:check Xpo trade fair took place in Mexico City. Over three days, numerous international manufacturers and distributors presented their innovations in the fields of audio, lighting, video, stage technology and more at the Mexico World Trade Centre. For Cameo, the sound:check Xpo was a milestone event: its official market launch in Mexico. To mark this, the Mexican Cameo distributor OHM Distribution presented a broad overview of the latest highlights from the Adam Hall Group’s lighting brand at its stand. At the OHM Distribution stand, Cameo models including the AZOR S2, OTOS W12 and the new P6 LED profile spotlight attracted the attention of visitors. While the first day of the trade fair was primarily reserved for musicians, studio professionals and smaller service providers, on days 2 and 3 it was mainly attended by rental companies, system integrators and lighting designers. “The sound:check Xpo 2025 was a complete success and the perfect start for Cameo in the Mexican market,” commented Pablo Pittavino (Adam Hall Group Business Development Manager LATAM). A few days before Christmas, the annual “Great Advent Concert” took place in Dresden’s Rudolf Harbig Stadium. In front of nearly 20,000 spectators (and one million TV viewers), star tenor Rolando Villazón hosted a festive evening filled with international choirs, orchestras, and a variety of celebrity guest appearances. With project manager Alexander Zobel in charge, SAM Production GmbH was responsible for the open-air production’s technical staging, which used Cameo lights for most of the lighting. Weatherproof light set-up © SAM Production – Michael Schmidt Sub-zero temperatures, sleet, and blustery gusts of wind are always a given for open-air productions in the depths of December. One thing has been certain for many years: Donny Montell’s concerts are unique experiences. Following “2057” (2022) and “360” (2023), the Lithuanian pop superstar returned to Kaunas, Lithuania, at the end of 2024 to play another groundbreaking show in front of 10,000 spectators at the Žalgiris Arena. Once again on board: Baltic Production Service (as overall technical service provider), Marfa Lights (as stage, video and lighting design studio) and 350 Cameo lights. “A Donny Montell concert cannot be reduced to a standard formula – every show is unique and distinctive,” explains Andrius Stasiulis from Marfa Lights. “Donny only plays one big show every year. No club has caused more of a stir on Mallorca in the past year than AMØK. Opened in 2024, the massive project by former Pascha Group CEO, Oscar Ruiz del Rio, and British singer Recardo Patrick has quickly become the new party highlight on the island. In addition to club nights, AMØK offers all the right conditions for high-end corporate events, meetings, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions (MICE). The Mallorcan AV integrator ShowCenter was responsible for the lighting technology in the club and exclusively used Cameo lights for this purpose. “The operators wanted a lighting technology set-up in the same league as the world’s best clubs,” recalls ShowCenter CEO Julio Caamaño. “After scoping the market with the Location Designer Pedro Mercé and carrying out extensive tests, it was clear to us that we would use Cameo for all light placements.” ShowCenter has been one of the largest AV installation service providers on Mallorca for many years and has a wealth of experience in the audiovisual outfitting of hotels, restaurants, bars, and clubs.
