At this year’s Live Design International (LDI) from 8 to 10 December in Las Vegas, Cameo – the Adam Hall Group’s lighting technology brand – will once again be presenting numerous innovations and product highlights for professional lighting designers, rental service providers and more. Among the featured fixtures this year are the ORON H2 IP65 hybrid phosphor laser moving head and the OPUS X4 PROFILE with its 1400 watt LED white light engine. Cameo will also be presenting a world premiere in Las Vegas: the AZOR® SP2 IP compact spot profile moving head with IP65 certification. From 8 to 10 October, the event technology manufacturer headquartered in Neu-Anspach, Germany, invited nearly 60 distributors from the APAC region to the Indigo Hotel Bali Seminyak. Who will be the Iron Drift King? 64 drivers asked themselves this question at the three-day drift festival with the same name. Amidst the impressive backdrop of the Ferropolis Industrial Museum with its gigantic open-cast mining excavators, the drift professionals raced on a customised racetrack in front of thousands of spectators. The drift manoeuvres were dynamically staged by the technical service provider i:TECS Event Production, which used the Cameo ORON H2 IP65 Hybrid Phosphor Laser Moving Heads for the first time. The i:TECS team placed a total of 30 ORON H2s on the roofs and booms of the four bucket wheel excavators in Ferropolis in order to effectively stage the races in the open-air arena. “We have significantly expanded the lighting concept for Iron Drift King compared to last year and decided to use moving lights on the excavators for the first time in order to emphasise the unique industrial atmosphere of Ferropolis and enhance the dynamics of the races,” explains Robin Ziegler from i:TECS. “With its combination of high light output, flexible zoom, and IP65 weatherproofing, the ORON H2 was the perfect light for the job.” To make installing the lights on the hard-to-reach excavators as simple as possible, Who will be the Iron Drift King? 64 drivers asked themselves this question at the three-day... When the summers in Alicante in southern Spain get too hot, jazz fans look forward to a visit to the cool Adda Auditorium. FIJAZZ takes place here every year – a nationally renowned jazz festival that lasts more than two weeks and, this year, featured concerts by Salif Keita, Paquito d’Rivera, and other jazz greats. To harmonise the lighting in the large symphony hall of the Adda Auditorium with the musical diversity of jazz, the team from event technology service provider PORTES used a wide range of Cameo moving lights from the OPUS®, OTOS® and AZOR® series. Flexible set-up for large and small The symphony hall of the Adda Auditorium was built for classical music and can accommodate orchestras on its large stage. Fifty minutes of total immersion in a nocturnal, sensorial and personal cultural experience for each visitor: that is the aim of “Lumina Catedral de Toledo”, a sensational production that the public can enjoy from December 2023 inside Spain’s Gothic jewel, the Cathedral “Primada” of Spain. The main components are the mapping of large-scale artistic and architectural elements, precise and captivating surround sound and a lighting design that makes the cathedral’s architecture appear even more impressive. In an interview, Alfonso López Rivera – director of the “Lumina” project and managing director of the company Meraki Cultura Audiovisual SL – reveals the challenges of the audiovisual staging and why the team decided in favour of Cameo lights and LD Systems audio components.
