At ISE 2025, Adam Hall Integrated Systems will focus even more strongly on the overarching control aspect of its audio and lighting solutions. The basis for this is the new, groundbreaking update for LD Systems QUESTRA. With version 1.3, the design and management software platform makes it possible to do a variety of things, including the ability to integrate third-party solutions for the control and automation of network-based installation solutions. With 63 participating companies and over 50 start-ups, the PCI Creative Science Park in Ílhavo, Portugal, brings together entrepreneurs and established companies to collaborate on sustainable projects. In addition to separate buildings for materials science and information electronics, the main building includes a large auditorium for lectures, discussion panels and other events. The AV service provider responsible, Arte & Som, opted for a flown MAILA XL line array system to provide consistent sound coverage in the elongated room with its steeply rising rows of seats. The Mettrin Event Center with its steel pillars rises from the shore of Hungary’s Lake Bánki as if it were alive. Since 2023, the impressive new building has offered ideal conditions for all kinds of events: from corporate functions and conferences to weddings, gala dinners, concerts, and more. In its very first year, the building featuring a mixture of wood, glass, and elegant exposed concrete was nominated for a national architecture award (architects: Ferdinand and Ferdinand). Hungarian integrator Off BEAT was responsible for the audio and lighting design at the Mettrin Event Center, using a combination of LD Systems and Cameo products for the various indoor and outdoor areas. ZONE X as an audio centre Off BEAT divided the Mettrin Event Center into several audio zones, controlled by a ZONE X 1212 D hybrid matrix DSP processor. While a large PA system was used for the main hall, the outdoor-capable installation speakers from the LS Systems DQOR series in the DQOR 8 and DQOR 5 versions were utilised by the integrator for the terrace and outdoor areas. What a career! In just a few years, Jessica Shy went from a casting show participant (including the X-Factor) to the most famous pop act in Lithuania. The last two years in particular have been particularly impressive: a record nine nominations at the Lithuanian M.A.M.A. Awards 2023, co-writer of “Luktelk”, Silvester Belt’s entry song for Eurovision Song Contest 2024, and finally a packed national stadium in Kaunas with 38,000 spectators – only Ed Sheeran could top such a live brand. Lighting designer Arvydas Buinauskas (AB Light) created an impressive lighting and stage design for the stadium show, which was supported by almost 250 Cameo lights. We had the opportunity to talk to Arvydas about his ideas and the creative use of the Cameo series PIXBAR, OTOS, and ZENIT. Arvydas, how did you become a lighting designer? How did it all begin? Arvydas Buinauskas: I have to go back to art school where I learnt how to paint. Later, when I was just 20 years old, I worked for an event technology company which provided sound and lighting equipment for events. What a career! In just a few years, Jessica Shy went from a casting show participant (including the X-Factor) to the most famous pop act in Lithuania. The last two years in particular have been particularly impressive: a record nine nominations at the Lithuanian M.A.M.A. Awards 2023, co-writer of “Luktelk”, Silvester Belt’s entry song for Eurovision Song Contest 2024, and finally a packed national stadium in Kaunas with 38,000 spectators – only Ed Sheeran could top such a live brand. Lighting designer Arvydas Buinauskas (AB Light) created an impressive lighting and stage design for the stadium show, which was supported by almost 250 Cameo lights. We had the opportunity to talk to Arvydas about his ideas and the creative use of the Cameo series PIXBAR, OTOS, and ZENIT. Arvydas, how did you become a lighting designer? How did it all begin? Arvydas Buinauskas: I have to go back to art school where I learnt how to paint. Later, when I was just 20 years old, I worked for an event technology company which provided sound and lighting equipment for events. I learnt a lot about lighting technology, lighting, and other things here, and then delved increasingly deeper into the subject. What a career!
