What a career! In just a few years, Jessica Shy went from a casting show participant (including the X-Factor) to the most famous pop act in Lithuania. The last two years in particular have been particularly impressive: a record nine nominations at the Lithuanian M.A.M.A. Awards 2023, co-writer of “Luktelk”, Silvester Belt’s entry song for Eurovision Song Contest 2024, and finally a packed national stadium in Kaunas with 38,000 spectators – only Ed Sheeran could top such a live brand. Lighting designer Arvydas Buinauskas (AB Light) created an impressive lighting and stage design for the stadium show, which was supported by almost 250 Cameo lights. We had the opportunity to talk to Arvydas about his ideas and the creative use of the Cameo series PIXBAR, OTOS, and ZENIT. Arvydas, how did you become a lighting designer? How did it all begin? Arvydas Buinauskas: I have to go back to art school where I learnt how to paint. Later, when I was just 20 years old, I worked for an event technology company which provided sound and lighting equipment for events. Over more than ten years, this self-proclaimed “gear nerd” has produced over 1,000 videos centred on his favourite instrument. Alongside his role as a YouTuber, Eirik has also built a career as a professional cinematographer. With the Cameo S4 IP, he’s recently found an LED softlight that supports him in both fields. We spoke with Eirik about his journey as a YouTuber, the look of his videos, and his work as a cinematographer for external clients. Eirik, you have a very successful YouTube channel all about guitar gear. When did you start it and what was the reason behind it? Eirik: I started my YouTube channel in 2013. Each year, the Fashion Infection festival in Lithuania brings together rising fashion design talents and experienced professionals to provide them with an internationally recognized runway platform for their fashion collections. In 2024, the festival took place for the first time in St. Catherine’s Church in Vilnius. At the request of the superordinate event production company Baltic Production Service, Andrius Stasiulis (Marfa Lights) created a unique lighting design with striking elements that perfectly complemented both the historic church architecture and the progressive fashion language. In this interview, Andrius, who has also attracted attention in recent years with spectacular opera productions and award shows, talks about his lighting concept and the qualities of his favorite Cameo lighting fixtures. Andrius, please tell us something about Fashion Infection: How did you get involved? What excited you about this project? Andrius Stasiulis: We have been collaborating with the Fashion Infection team since 2021, and for the 2024 edition, we were tasked to design the lighting.
